Village Health Committee, Sahiyya Resource Centre (VSRC) is an initiative of State Rural Health Mission, Government of Jharkhand and is the body which will implement the community level interventions of the National Rural Health Mission of India in Jharkhand.

You will be carrying forward the aim and objective of the National Rural Health Mission and Jharkhand Government in order to build a “Healthy Jharkhand Happy Jharkhand”.

Organization : Village Health Committee – Sahiyya Resource Centre (VSRC), is a joint initiative of State Rural Health Mission, Jharkhand, a collective of civil society groups with a view to provide and facilitate proper training, monitoring and support to the Village Health Committees and Sahiyya’s (community health volunteers equivalent to ASHA under NRHM) in the state of Jharkhand. It will work in collaboration with government, NGOs and various stake holders.

Program Coordinator/Associates

  • at various levels

Job Descriptions for the Position:

  1. The person would be responsible for developing and implementing strategies and work plans to ensure that the VSRC achieves its goals and objectives pertaining to the state are met.
  2. The responsibilities would include involvement in program planning, management and implementation, partner management, supervision of staff, process and impact documentation as well as state level representation of VSRC and networking activities.
  3. A key aspect would be to co-ordinate the training and monitoring process of service providers in the State.
  4. Providing continuous support and trouble-shooting inputs at the field level.
  5. Other responsibilities, as deemed necessary time to time. Please note that the VSRC is supposed to provide a holistic support for the community processes under NRHM hence all the job profiles in VSRC shall also cover a lot of involvement and support in the core VSRC work from time to time, sometimes beyond the specific profile.

Essential Qualifications

  • Post graduate degree in social work or management;
  • Qualification criteria shall be relaxed only for those candidates with considerable experience and track record.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience preferably within the State for state level positions, 4 years for regional level and minimum 3 years for district level posotions.
  • Strong strategic thinking and program management skills and expertise including budgeting and negotiation skills;
  • Good presentation and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work in teams and in diverse environments;
  • Willing to travel as needed.

Desirable

  1. Experience of working in Health and Development Sector.
  2. Fluent in Hindi & English: both spoken and written.
  3. Relevant computer experience, working knowledge of MS office and SPSS.
  4. Excellent understanding of the Community process under NRHM viz. ASHA, Sahiyya, Village health committee.

Training Coordinator

  • Organization : VHC-Sahiyya Resource Centre (VSRC), Jharkhand
  • Location: Jharkhand
  • Reports to: Team Leader, VSRC-Jharkhand

Job Descriptions for the Position: Shall be responsible to take lead of all the training/capacity building measures under the VSRC, which shall include:

  • Assess training needs for VHC and Sahiyya and related interventions.
  • Conceptualisation of training strategy, training curriculum and training material and production support for the same.
  • Setting up and imparting of training systems including that for training monitoring/evaluation from grassroots upto the state level.
  • Leading the conduct of orientation/refresher training programme for personnel involved in Sahiyya programme and Community processes.
  • Provide analytical feed back to the District/Block level community processes and develop corrective Strategic as required.
  • Design & conduct sharing workshop for District & Block level Sahiyya units as per action plan.
  • Analyze the evaluation report of Sahiyya programme as well as related activities and introduce course corrections and modifications of the training/ Capacity Building Strategy & plan.
  • Undertake field visit as per plan to assess the effect/impact of Capacity Building intervention for community processes.
  • Provide support to Data Assistant & other staff.
  • Other responsibilities, as deemed necessary time to time.

Essential Qualifications:

Coordinator- BCC and Documentation

Job Descriptions for the Position:

  1. Preparation of need based BCC documents and material for community processes.
  2. Preparation of monthly report on Sahiyya programme, in coordination with the M&E coordinator.
  3. Build capacity of the District & Block level Sahiyya Resource Units for documenting the best practices & processes.
  4. Provide support to Data Assistant & other staff.
  5. Identify processes which need documentation under the guidance of team leader and experts; proactively document lessons learnt and innovations for the identified audience.
  6. Support the Team Leader in preparing plans, annual action plans, project reports, progress reports and other documentation;
  7. Update the implementation plan by initiating changes,
  8. Deletions and additions of new activities, when necessary; edit documents and reports as requested;
  9. Other responsibilities, as deemed necessary time to time.

  1. Experience of working in Development Sector, especially health & nutrition.

Administration and Finance officer

  • Organization : VHC-Sahiyya Resource Centre (VSRC), Jharkhand

  • Job Descriptions for the Position : To lead all the administrate affairs of the organization, including;
  1. Oversee proper upkeep and maintenance of office premises and working facilities like communication system, furniture etc. to provide the best possible physical environment for staff to discharge their duties.
  2. Supervise procurement function to provide complete integrity and transparency in the way vendor lists are maintained, enquiries sent and order placed, so that the best value is obtained and requirement of the requisitioned are met in a cost effective and timely fashion.
  3. Keep track of lease and other legal documents for their timely renewals.
  4. Ensure all OBSA items procured are accounted in OBSA as per policy, periodical review of AMC e.g. computer peripherals, air conditioners, EPABX, etc and keep them alive at all times.
  5. Follow up timely and appropriate resolution of legal cases in which VSRC may be involved, to the best interest of VSRC.
  6. Coordinate the hiring of staff as per HR policies, monitor staff contract expiry and ensure timely completion of contract renewal and other formalities.
  7. Ensure financial planning for all projects and review the same monthly.
  8. Plan and help implement an enabling working environment in VSRC-Jharkhand.
  9. Ensure proper Accounting and budgeting.
  10. Provide and coordinate all necessary administrative/management support for all programme staff/ team members of VSRC.

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, with two years in a senior level position preferably within the State;

1. Fluent in Hindi & English: both spoken and written.
2. Experience of working in Development Sector, especially health.
3. Experience of working with state government run projects/programmes, especially health.
4. Relevant computer experience, working knowledge of MS office and SPSS.
